Moto Guzzi 850 GT California 1971
Back to shine
Some motorcycles seem to be made on purpose to draw all the attention everywhere they go, and this 1971 Moto Guzzi 850GT California is one of them.
The actual owner found it in very poor condition in the island of Ibiza last year where it had spent most of its 46 years of motoring life. He then sent it to us for a complete restoration at the beginning of this year. We rebuilt and blueprinted the engine, gearbox and tranny. Stripped the frame, sand blasted all residual paint from all the metal parts, new electrics and ready for a new paintjob. After many hours of polishing and chroming we finally put everything back together. It sounds and works as it had just come out of the famous Mandello gate!
For the trained eye, we are still missing the front crashbars and the side “sandwich boxes”, don’t worry, they will be fitted as soon as they are back from paint and chrome…
